Creating the WOW Factor: When Big is Beautiful

The Noonday Canon at the Tower of London

BRITISH SCHOOL
A Royal Salute at the Tower of London
Oil on canvas
Image size: 81 x 106 cm (2 ft 8 x 3 ft 5¾ in)
Framed size: 100 x 126 cm (3 ft 3½ x 4 ft 1½ in)
Comment: An interesting but unsigned late 20thC painting of a late 18thC-early 19thC
view of a canon being fired from the Tower of London. This is possibly a Royal 62 Gun Salute, indicated by the presence of the Royal Standard which is only flown when the reigning
monarch is visiting or residing at a royal palace.
Acknowledgement: With thanks to the Tower of London Visitor Services for their help
in identifying the possible subject.

Currently available and priced at £2,500

A Continental Riverscape

BRITISH SCHOOL
A Continental Riverscape
Watercolour on paper
Date: Mid-Late 19th Century
Inscription: Unsigned
Image size: 63 x 96cm (2 ft 2¾ x 3 ft 1¾ in)
Framed size: 99.5 x 130 cm (3 ft 3¼ x 4 ft 3¼ in)
Comment: Considering the technical difficulty of painting in watercolour, this is
a particularly high quality example of such an unusually large piece.
Currently available and priced at £3,750

The three paintings shown above are all BIG. We've used a bottle of
claret as a device to indicate how large they are since we're all familiar with
a standard 75cl bottle of red wine (this one just happens to be a 1996
Château Mouton Rothschild, and very nice too).

There it is, a big empty wall space. And a big empty wall space often needs a big picture to fill it in order to:

ADD THE WOW FACTOR:   A large work can act as a focal point that immediately draws the visitor's attention.

ADD AMBIENCE:  To a home or office space.

REFLECT YOUR PERSONALITY:  Whether with a vibrant, coloured portrait or a calmer, more sober landscape.

BE IMPRESSIVE:  One big painting can often have a greater visual impact over several smaller ones.

ACT AS A 'CONVERSATION PIECE':  Large works often become 'conversation pieces' in their own right.

BE INTRIGUING:  Due to their impressive scale, one often finds oneself drawn back time and again to a large painting, discovering something new or interpreting it differently as a result.

So, if you think that one of these paintings would suitably fill that big empty wall space, please give us a call and we will happily bring it to you to have a look at in situ, at no cost and with absolutely no obligation to purchase.

Best wishes
