      Welcome to Albany Fine Art

 

We’re passionate about pictures and I have been collecting and dealing in fine art since the late 1960s. 

 

Today we specialise in high quality works of art up to the present day by well-known artists, with a particular interest in figurative work c.1860-1960.  We offer interesting and appealing pictures and sculpture - works with distinct artistic merit which demonstrate a high degree of technical skill and draughtsmanship.

 

We hope you will enjoy visiting our works of art: images are high resolution and can also be zoomed.  We're told that our Useful Information is both interesting and helpful, with Artists' Biographies particularly commented upon.  We plan to add a Glossary of Terms in due course.

 

We believe that all clients have the right to expect a gallery to operate to the highest professional standards.  Yes, we are a business but we believe that integrity makes good business sense: we are independent, we have no commercial involvement with any other individuals or organisations, we seek to provide excellent value and to build long-term relationships with our clients.

 

And, having ourselves bought extensively in the UK, Europe and the USA over many years, we set out to ensure that Albany was the kind of business we ourselves would like to deal with.  We trust that all our clients feel that we provide a knowledgeable, efficient and discreet service and an interesting and enjoyable experience.

 

We welcome enquiries from new and experienced private collectors, corporate collectors and institutional bodies and are always happy 'to talk pictures' and give advice.

 

We are also pleased to advise clients who wish to start or build their collections and to act directly on clients’ behalves to locate work by particular artists in the UK and internationally. We make no charge for this service unless you wish us to buy on your behalf. We are also happy to consider buying work direct from clients, either on our own account or by arranging its sale at the most appropriate auction house.

 

All works are available for viewing by appointment in either Oxfordshire or London and can be shipped and insured anywhere in the world.
